The Synthesise Identity
Synthesise brings together learning and beliefs from many different disciplines and systems of thinking. In doing this it draws from the worlds of psychotherapy, politics, spiritual and religious beliefs, intellectual and academic fields and social enterprise. We are keen for people to understand the unique nature of Synthesise and that although it has similarities with other organizations it is also distinct from them. For example:
Synthesise isn’t:
A Faith Community
We aren’t a religious organisation nor are we promoting a particular belief system. We see ourselves as holding an openness to spiritual forms both within and outside faith traditions which nurture inclusiveness, compassion and respect for difference. We believe that our essential nature is not separate but interconnected.
An Academic Institution
We aren’t a college or university nor directly involved in further or higher education. However, we do believe in the need for learning and research in the field of transpersonal development. We will make links with others who are seeking to develop and extend understanding of the transpersonal perspective.
A Political Party
We aren’t a party political organisation. However, we do hold strong views about social justice, the environment, public services and ethical business practice. We are explicitly trying to change the world and the societies we live in by developing a new paradigm that moves away from adversarial, individualistic ways of doing things, towards a new ethic of interconnectedness.
A Traditional Business Form
We are not responsible to shareholders, and profit is not our "bottom line". We seek to use any profit we make for investing in social and environmental change. We believe in the growth of new forms of fair trade, ethical business and social enterprise. We see ourselves as part of a global community and as such welcome the opportunity to work with
A Psychotherapy Organisation
We don't provide psychotherapy services are not currently intending to offer qualifying courses to therapists and counselors.
We are deeply informed by Psychosynthesis and many of our activities will provide continued professional development to therapists and counsellors, and introductory courses to those wanting to find out more about Psychosynthesis and the field of transpersonal psychology.
