How Synthesise is Organised & Funded

Synthesise is a co-operative of people with a shared vision and values. Initially three people, the organisation is now growing to include more members. Its members are owners of the organisation and take responsibility for its growth and direction. A management team take responsibility for the day to day operations and for carrying out the wishes of the membership and supporter group.

As well as being a co-operative, Synthesise is also a limited company, set up to be a not for profit organisation. The management team are also its directors in accordance with company law. As a marketing consortium cooperative the organisation plans to promote the activities of its members as well as bringing in trainers who may or may not be members of the organisation.

Members will meet regularly to plan next stages and there will be an annual community meeting for members and supporters.

Advisors & Partners

We are in the process of developing partnerships with a range of individuals who we can call on to advise us in their area of expertise, and with a range of organisations who we will work with on particular projects. Partnerships will usually be formed around particular projects such as conferences or consultancies, but we hope to keep good relationships with our partner organisations above and beyond projects that may come and go.

Global links

We are in the process of developing links with a range of organisations across the world and we already have networking relationships with like-minded organisations in Uganda, New Zealand and the USA.

How Synthesise is Funded

Synthesise is funded from a range of sources:

  • fees from participants on courses
  • subscriptions from supporters
  • management fees from projects
  • direct income from consultancies
  • commission from trainers / consultants who get work as a result of their involvement in a Synthesise programme
  • grants, investments and contributions
